The club serves as a link between its members and the Central Nguni Society of South Africa. KZN Nguni Cattle Club is a non-profit organization that strives to conserve and enhance the unique characteristics of the Nguni cattle breed, and to promote the proliferation of the Nguni population in the province. It aims to serve the needs of its members ie. facilitation of marketing of animals, education and support in areas needed, information days and catering for exchange between members in whatever form.

The Nguni is a truly African breed that has proved itself over centuries. It is adapted, hardy, displays longevity and is functionally-efficient in terms of fertility, good mothering ability and cost-efficient food conversion. GJR0727 is an extremely virile bull and has given us great calves over the years, but has to move on as too many of his progeny around. Animals with hereditary defects or with deviations, which will impede the functional efficiency according to the appraisal of the. The Society must control the practice of AI and ET in Nguni herds in accordance with the Act. It is our vision to educate the cattle fraternity regarding these traits and to introduce these cattle back into areas where other less-efficient breeds have been used. We particularly stress the value of these cattle in economic, profitable farming because of lower input costs required. We can see a huge role of this breed in the future, where food production is of paramount importance.
